The Canadian who did the European delivery on his new BMW 1M (1-Series M) has documented his delivery of the car in Germany quite extensively. Click the link to check out the full writing and story behind his pick-up (currently still in progress)
Very cool car, and a very cool way to pick up a new car!

i’d be lying if i said i wouldn’t take one. but pretty she ain’t…
One thing to note as I saw replies in the thread for this is that you will NOT in fact be allowed onto Nordschleife with your Munich Delivery car (regardless of who makes it) as all the plates you are given are temporary plates (notice they don’t have the blue band on the right side.).
So, if you go over there with the sole intent of picking up your Audi/BMW/Mercedes/Porsche and doing a few laps around Nurburgring Nordschleife, you are going to be one upset fellow when you get al the way over there only to find out they will not let you onto the course with temporary plates. We found this out the hard way when I was ove rthere in 2009 with some buddies of mine in a built VW GTI who had temp plates and they would not let him or any of the other 4 or 5 cars there on temp plates onto the circuit….
So, ya best scratch that idea off your list on European delivery and plan on renting a track car if you want to circuit the Green Hell on your trip.
must be a fairly recent policy, then, as it was possible just a few years ago:
