Audi 1-2-3-4 at Spa today. Wicked.
Here’s a fascinating onboard video of the R18 e-Tron quattro from earlier today at Spa. Saw this video at the excellent Audi Motorport Blog, who described it as a “spaceship”—-i completely agree!

Audi 1,2,3,4 . Hmmn . Well in light of the competition available this year in LMS / ALMS that not much of an accomplishment now is it ?
Sort of like bragging that you won your class when you were the ONLY entry in that class
Sorry but this years Endurance Series are set to be the racing Snooze fest of snooze fests until some ‘ genuine ‘ competition steps up to the plate ( don’t even mention the Toyota until its finally and fully developed …. assuming Toyota doesn’t drop the program … seeing as how as BMW put it ” Winning LeMans in the modern era is like winning at your local Kart track . Meaningless in the overall scope of things )
Actually Le Mans has been THE most exciting motorsports event happening in the last 7 or 8 years…..if you’ve been ignoring it, you’ve been missing out! Audi vs. Peugeot was just brilliant……led to some of the finest Le Mans races in history. BMW can say what they want…..because they can’t compete at Le Mans like Audi can…..sounds like bitter words to me, man.
Ahem ! First off I’m a die hard Benz man these days ( never was a BMW guy ) , so no bitterness on my part . Second ; Two cars ( brands ) do not make for ‘ Exciting ‘ competition ‘ at least in my 50 + Humble Opinion . I realize you ‘ youngins ‘ missed out when the likes of Porsche- Ferrari – Lancia- Ford- BMW etc etc were all going at it head to head with tons of factory dollars being spent – F1 pilots in the drivers seat etc etc …. but really ….. two brands racing against a field of Wanna Be’s , with a bunch of barely knowns and F1 washouts in the drivers seat is not racing . Its a foregone conclusion .
One brand ( now just Audi with Toyota ‘ playing ‘ at it ) makes it ….. zzzZZZZZ … huh ….. oh sorry …. just thinking about it puts me to sleep
Want the results for the rest of the LMS/ALMS season that Audi is entered in right now ?
Audi 1, 2, 3 etc assuming none break down
You can take that to the bank my friend 😉
And errrr…. FYI … BMW DOMINATED ALMS/LMS when they competed up and until they chose to walk away at the height of their game …. realizing there was
Zero commercial benefit from having done so .
Conclusion : LeMans became irrelevant about a decade ago and is now only run for the nostalgia factor .
i wasn’t calling you bitter; i was calling BMW bitter. I 100% disagree with you about Le Mans. It is THE motorsports event……Audi has dominated like nobody else but Porsche has. Maybe that doesn’t excite you, but don’t say it is “irrelevant” because that is inaccurate. Porsche comes back next year….Toyota is no joke, definitely for real….originally tried with the GT-One years ago. Peugeot may come back in the next 2 years barring financial aches (the reason they pulled out)…..
You need to start watching Le Mans…you’ve been missing out. Last year’s race was INCREDIBLE….one of the best races i’ve ever seen bar none……it’s not fair at all for you to blanket criticize it…if anything Le Mans has been resurrected to its glory days thanks to Audi.
