The Donkervoort D8 GTO is easily one of my absolute favourite cars in production right now…..just amazing to look at, and transcends the idea of the Lotus Seven straight into the 21st century. The GT4 version won the GT4 class of the 24 hours of Dubai, so it is developing a racing pedigree all of its own.

Donkervoort builds amazing cars. The only thing common with the Lotus 7 is the look of it, the rest is absolutely high tech. I have visited their factory a few times. The chassis is so light you can easily lift it with 2 (because of the size). Front window frame is made of carbon, and weighs about nothing.
I have driven one for about an hour. At first you are overwhelmed by the power and low seating, but when you get used to it you can easily drive it through the city. Great cars 🙂
