A110-50 in detail and production Alpine coming to 2012 Paris Auto Show.

I fell hard for the Renault Alpine A110-50 Concept  introduced on May 25th at the Monaco Grand Prix.  Here are some fantastic close-up detail shots of the concept, confirming that the level of detail is just beautiful on it.  From the success of the concept, it appears we are going to see some sort of a production Alpine concept at the Paris Auto Show in the Autumn.  I’m really not sure how finished of a product we may see—however i’m quite confident based on people i’ve spoken to that there will be something on display at the Paris show resembling a production Alpine, at least in concept form.

50 years ago, Jean Redele introduced the production Alpine A110 at the 1962 Paris Auto Show.  Renault is going to do something similar with a production, street-version of the A110-50.  As usual, IEDEI will be ahead of the game when it comes to publishing news about it!

    For being ahead of the game you seem to of missed that Renault has officially stated to the both EU and UK Automotive press last week that the A110-50 will remain a prototype as well as a possible test bed : with no production plans for the foreseeable future .

    In light of Renault’s current financial woes that have been made very clear in all the financial press of late ( EU UK USA ) : I for one would take that ‘ official ‘ statement to heart

    Renault unfortunately is in no position to put the A110-50 into production , even if the platform has already been developed previously . Not to mention that in light of Lotus’s extremely weak sales ( Elise/Exige/Evora ) there is no market at present for a car in this range

    Je vous offre un Adieu !

      the A110-50 was never meant to go into production……there are, however, other Alpines in the pipeline which WILL be the production Alpines. The A110-50 is merely a design and engineering exercise. I think most of the people following the story of the car already knew that…..as I did as well.

    Syed -And I quote you good sir ;

    The sad fact is Renault may ….. as FIAT has recently done with the Abarth moniker stick the Alpine badge on a few of its hot hatch what evers in a vain attempt ( as FIAT is doing ) to revive a much lauded legend with Badge Engineering cynicism . As far as any kind of A110-50 making it to production , thats off the table .

    Unfortunately Renaults current financial woes preclude them doing anything serious or real with the Alpine name : seeing as how Renault’s sales numbers have tanked EU wide and from whats being said in the Financials .. Mssr. Gohsn is none to pleased
