This time it seems it is for real. NEVS (National Electric Vehicle Sweden), which is a Swedish company—-has purchased Saab! Price is not disclosed. BBC reports this as a “Swedish-Chinese investment group”, however I find that a bit odd, seeing as the CEO of NEVS is a Swedish Citzen…..
EDIT: Apparently NEVS is owned by a Hong Kong firm, so ‘Swedish-Chinese’ is accurate assessment!
As someone who has always admired Saabs and at one point wanted a Saab 900 as my first car when I was 15 (i never did get one, but my mum did!), I am really glad to think that the marque may live another day!
Here’s hoping it sticks this time…

Sigh . Well …… lets hope . I won’t hold my breath ( especially in light of them focusing solely on E/V’s…. which have a limited future at best according to all the engineers @ Audi/BMW/M-B et al ) But like you I hated seeing one of the great automotive icons fall to the way side . So I’ll hope . Regardless .
To be honest I’ve had enough of the SAAB Story to last me two more lifetimes so something positive would be nice
BTW a SAAB Sonnet is my SAAB ‘ I regret I never owned one ‘
😮
BTW the complete story of the purchase , details and all are available on the saabsunited website if anyones interested . In all honestly ,assuming everything saabsuntied has up is accurate ….. well I’ve a bit less hope than my earlier post suggests . But ………. I’ll keep on keeping on … stranger things have happened and SAAB dealers re-opening Worldwide would be nice ….. we’ll see . Hmmmn .
