As i’ve found, the Alfa Romeo Brera is reaching the end of its production. It was a beautiful original concept design, pretty much ruined for production (however STILL much better looking, even in ruined form, than most other cars out there), which never really translated into a glorious return to form for Alfa. The Brera Spider was even a bigger fail; floppy, slow, and completely failure of a drive!
How did Alfa Romeo ruin the Brera? I don’t know, but they really did.
So i’m guessing this 2010 Pininfarina Spider Concept introduced last year will somehow find its way in as the next Alfa Romeo Spider. I love the design, and i would LOVE to see a Coupe version of it……i think it would be a fitting successor to the design of the Brera.
If they put this beauty into production, I’ll find a country where I can marry cars!
Well, this concept was done by Pininfarina to celebrate the Alfa anniversary. As you know, Pininfarina styled the original duetto spider. However, because this car wasn’t done by the Alfa Stlye Center, I don’t know if I’d look to it as directional for future Alfas. But let’s hope because I think it’s way prettier than the stuff they have done of late.
it’s strange because the Brera concept was a Giugaro concept….which eventually got put into production form by Pininfarina……i’m pretty sure this is pointing in the direction Alfa is going in, as some of the 169 spy pics i’ve seen also point towards this direction….
[…] so I googled for some other articles on the subject and discovered some more greats. For example, Alfa Romeo Spider/Death of the Brera posted back in January, by Syed, over on IEDEI: As i’ve found, the Alfa Romeo Brera is […]
This is one of the best blogs Ive ever seen
There have been other concept drawings for a new Spider that are utterly superior to this travesty – this is a spectacularly ugly car that
completely ignores all of Alfa’s great heritage of design. I think it would be hard to come up with a more appalling looking car, as an Alfa Spider afficianado, I am completly disgusted and baffled as to why anyone would find this car appealing in any way.
Richard Edwards.
Richard—i think the 4c Concept turned out to be a much bigger travesty even! what are your thoughts on that?
The 4C concept spider demonstrates the same kind of ineptitude and
complete lack of respect or undertanding of the previous spiders which were always the most beautiful roadsters of their respective eras, particularly of course the original 1959 Giulietta Spider as seen in the recent movie ” Nine ” . What a bungled missed oportunity, surely
designing a roadster would be a pinnacle in car design and a thrill to behold but then again BMW has proved that it is simply beyond them even with the departure of Mr. Bangle.

I usually do not drop a comment, but I browsed some of the remarks
here Alfa Romeo Spider/Death of the Brera. | IEDEI.
I actually do have a few questions for you if you do not mind.
Is it only me or does it seem like a few of the remarks look like they are coming from brain dead
visitors? 😛 And, if you are writing at other sites, I’d like to
keep up with everything new you have to post.
