wonderful series of illustrations by Atelier Olschinsky.
Elektro Guzzi are a fantastic band from Austria. The first time I heard them I thought “oh, minimalist electronic music” and then i realised that the were in fact far more than just an electronic outfit. In fact, they use instruments quite creatively. Definitely influenced by 70s Krautrock like Can and Neu, but interpreted to take in the best parts of modern electronica and minimalism to create a very current and very relevant sound. There is much to enjoy in Elektro Guzzi records, and this song “Pentagonia” is from their latest album “Parquet”….which is fantastic, by the way.

Smoking Shisha is a big part of middle eastern culture, and a very pleasurable manner in which to consume flavoured tobacco products. Porsche Design has always sold very nice lighters and pipes to discerning customers, and now they’ve added to the stable with a newly designed bong water pipe! Very nice for what it is. Surely to be expensive i’m sure…

I TOLD YOU all the blogs were wrong about the styling of the 2012 Beetle….funny how people argued that was how it was going to look….
It looks much better than I ever expected. I have never liked the Beetle—-never liked the original, never liked the ‘new’ Beetle of the late 90s. But they seem to have really thought this out well and have properly modernized an icon. I am sure it is going to sell like a free diamond.

The Foto of The Day Lancia Fulvia reminded me of this lost 2003 Lancia Fulvia concept car…..it was a stunning concept, heavily derived from the original design, but modern in its interpretation. I never understood why FIAT destroyed the Lancia name, instead of bringing cars like this Fulvia to production. My friend Jim Hall has tried to explain this numerous times, but I will never understand…..
COME TO YOUR SENSES FIAT & Lancia!! MAKE IT!
