Record store day 2014.

Well i’m lucky that i live 2 blocks away from Rough Trade NYC—-so i woke up, went to the gym, and then put on my clothes and walked over to Rough Trade!

There were TWO records i wanted.  Both debut reissues.  The first was the reissue 12″ of “Supersonic” by Oasis and the second was the reissue 12″ of “An Ideal For Living” EP by Joy Division.

The line at Rough Trade occupied much of N. 9th street and stretched on and down Kent Ave.

After seeing so many people in line, i had my doubts I was going to be able to find the limited edition 12″ vinyl i was after—–but 5 minutes after entering, i had what i needed in hand!  It only took 1.5 hours.  Well worth it though…..and the records?  well i already knew BOTH were amazing….and they certainly are.  Both are remastered and sound better than ever.   People were so excited to find the records they were looking for…..as was I.

the new Heuer Monaco McQueen watches.

I love Tag Heuer/Heuer watches, however I do know that they now have a bazillion versions of the same watch in the Monaco. It’s a watch I love, and aspire to own a version of someday—-although I will admit that the watch has become a bit of a cliche within the watch world.  Do i really care? No, not really.  I still really want that black dialed Monaco McQueen edition they had made a few years ago with the Gulf colours—–however i am really digging the progressive look of these new versions.

Tag Heuer Monza; 2011 edition!

I own one of the 2003 edition Tag Heuer Monzas, and have always lusted after the ‘older’ ones, however I have only recently learned that my Monza has much in common with the original 1933 Heuer Chronograph as originally I had been thinking that it was more like a Heuer Camaro than anything else—-I was wrong!  Very interesting.

Tag Heuer, after discontinuing my version of the Monza a few years ago—-in typical Tag Heuer fashion—has reissued the watch in a ‘new’ ode-to-1933 version.

Heuer Silverstone, resurrected!

One of THE coolest chronograph Heuer watches known as the Silverstone has been launched as a limited edition reissue!  So exciting! What’s not so exciting is the price tag.  $6500.  Time to sell a kidney?
