Before the Lotus Esprit became the Lotus Esprit…it was known as the M70. Penned by Giugaro (Italdesign) and quite a big step for Lotus as a company; It launched Lotus into the realm of supercars.
I have to say that the Series 1 Lotus Esprit is a pretty great looking car….and the M70 definitely looks like the purest expression of the design (obviously!).

Yes I don’t really cover non-automotive related topics, but the passing of Steve Jobs made me sad. Why? Because i’ve been using Apple computers since i was a little kid—–Mr. Jobs’ computers introduced me to computing, and without my trusty Macs, I wouldn’t be making music or writing blogs with such delightful ease as I do now….or sitting on airplanes with my fantastic iPad automotive e-magazines….or editing IEDEI from my iPhone. You will be missed, Steve.

Brad from Automobiliac has aptly and entertainingly chronicled the story of my attempt to secure one of my all time classic cars (BMW 2002 Turbo) recently. Late Friday night, i recieved confirmation that this was NOT going to work out…….as the car was not what i thought it was…..
