foto(s) of the day. quattroporte evo.

ah, i had no idea this even existed—-a racing version of the modern Maserati Quattroporte, lovingly referred to as Evo.

This car is privately raced in the SUPERSTARS SERIES and raced this past weekend by a Swiss team at Monza.  Hot stuff, yeah….

beast of a Mangusta.

Brad Automobiliac had sent me a video with a weird, fat looking Blue Detomaso Mangusta running laps….and that blue Mangusta has been stuck in my head for a couple of weeks now.

But i have found photos of it!  At least I believe it is the same one….it is absolutely BRUTAL looking.

Latest “Car-A-Day” Favourites…

Rob Ijbema is the brilliant artist who has been painting a high volume of paintings devoted to race cars. These paintings are also for sale, if you develop an unhealthy obsession with one of the works! A few months ago, i posted a link to his page. Here are some of the latest favourites of mine (especially the pair of Alpine A310s!) on his car-a-day blog:

BMW 3.0 CSL “art car”

This was commissioned by BMW, and the artist’s name is Frank Stella; a minimalist painter/artist from the USA.  The other “art car” designs i’ve seen BMW commission have really been quite disgusting and disgraceful to the faithful classics….this one, however, looks fantastic in IEDEI opinions!
