what was made, what was made very little of, and what was never made. All three are quattro icons.

I know I post a lot of Group B stuff…..but honestly it NEVER gets old…..i think as time goes by, that era of Group B rally will be looked back upon even more fondly than it already is—–as an era of classic rally cars which were overpowered and supercool. This video, in addition to Group B cars, also shows other rally cars which post-dated Group B rally.
This video by Tadej P is filmed beautifully in San Marino. Yes there is some music in there, however it isn’t too intrusive and serves more as background. It’s nice to see some Group B cars in action—-in a video which doesn’t look like it was ripped using a 25 year-old VHS cassette!
also check out Tadej’s super photography on Racemedia
2 great videos, posted by a member of the Audi community. EXCELLENT!
I especially love the “plot” in “Dreamer” where the quattro is remembering the glory days…
what an amazing photo, documenting the insanity of those 80s WRC Group B events; where people were literally inches and feet away from the most amazing rally cars driving full-on through the crowds. Everyone was brave; the drivers and the fans. This is from the 1984 Portugal Rally.

i saw this post on Motoring Con Brio showing the Lancia Delta ECV2 Group S rally prototype, developed for the days following the ban of the legendary Group B rally class.
Lancia Delta ESV2:
here’s the fascinating story of Audi’s ‘secret’ Group S prototype….a car even Audi/VW board members didn’t want to happen…..a mid engined, 1000hp rocketship, which obviously never made it to any form of completion due to regulatory changes in rally. Enlarge these photos to read the fascinating story of the Group S ‘secret’ Quattro.

You may or may not know that i also play music, in a project known as The Bavarian Druglords. Over the past few years, one of my favourite new bands to come out of the UK are a band called Exit Calm, who I was going to try to do a split 7″ single with last year—however it never came to fruition.
Anyways, i’m pleased to report that the latest Exit Calm release is a full length album, entitled “Exit Calm” was released last month, and it’s brilliant. so go listen to it.
Here’s a video from their album…for a song called “Hearts & Minds”…..but petrolheads, don’t worry! THERE is a car in the video! (an Audi Coupe GT)
