It’s no secret that i LOVE the Porsche Panamera. I think it is simply the most epic looking sedan on the market today. I know that many of you hate it…but I want one. Pretty badly.
Now, having gotten that out of the way…this velvet-covered Panamera spotted in London is definitely one of the most bizarre finishes I have ever seen on a moving vehicle. So………….is it possible to get one finished in Alcantara?
wow. I never thought i’d see an Audi TT with such a low weight. I think the MK2 TT was a major design flop as I think the MK1 is one of THE great designs in automotive history…but this weight reduction is almost enough to make me forgive the MK2’s unforgivable design flaws. Audi, you’ve impressed me yet again.
I saw The Datsuns live several years ago in Chicago and they absolutely blew my mind. Easily one of the finest live bands i’ve ever seen…..fierce and full of raw power. If you have a chance to see The Datsuns play live…GO.
This past week….”Gods Are Bored” has been looping around my headphones.
In session:
here’s a clip of them playing “Gods are Bored” LIVE:
as a bonus, “Sittin Pretty” from the same show LIVE:
I am loving the idea of this…movement in silence. There is something very epic about the sounds of silence….if one can appreciate sounds extensively, one increases their appreciation of silence.
This installation was done by BMW in relation to their “i” sub-brand.
The NSFW (sorry, that’s a late warning innit?) album cover to the new Beady Eye album:
It’s no secret i’ve been a massive Oasis fan since I was a kid. I’ve never cared much to meet heroes or mingle with celebrities…..BUT meeting Liam Gallagher when I was 18 was quite literally a life-changing experience. He was friendly, real, and most of all— super nice to a kid who was finding his identity. Fast-forward many years…and Beady Eye have released their first single from their new album “BE” and it is one hell of a single. The new album comes out in June.
This is YAKUTSK in Siberia. Is it really that cold, you ask?
“No other place on the planet experiences the temperature extreme found here: in winter, the temperatures regularly fall to minus 40° (the coldest temperature recorded was -64°C) and in summer often reaches temperatures above 30°C”
I’ve never read anything that a gentleman named Norman Mailer has written, however while perusing Nolan Bushnell’s twitter feed, I came across this quote which is just phenomenal.
A beautiful oil painting by Edward Wadsworth from 1919 as a part of the glorious Vorticism movement, entitled “Dazzle Ship In Drydock At Liverpool”.
I’m currently on the lookout to buy some original Vorticist paintings by people such as Wyndham Lewis and Edward Wadsworth, amongst others, so if anyone reading this has any leads to places which may have such paintings for sale or on auction, please shoot me an e-mail or leave a reply here with your contact info.
The jury is out. I really still don’t know what i think of this new 2015 Audi S3 Sedan which debut’d last week in NYC. Let me just tell you that I actually have a deposit down to be one of the first US buyers for an S3 Sedan (a deposit i put down last year when the S3 Sportback was first introduced) —-however i am fairly disappointed in the S3 Sedan itself. The design is nowhere near as interesting as the Concept or as I was hoping. It is a beautifully spec’d package with 300hp, 0-60 in 4.7s, quattro, and some beautifully trimmed interior and exterior bits—but somehow i feel like Audi has entered a ‘comfort zone’…in which designing a car has become too easy for them.
Don’t get me wrong. It is a good looking car. I’m certain it’s a fantastic car, as most Audis are. I just wish it was a Sportback….OR that it was a bit more unique. OR I wish that it didn’t look like ‘Audi-by-the-numbers’.
it’s that shape….far beyond just a machine..into the realm of pure art….iconic, thought-provoking, timeless, old, new, beautiful, and always interesting.
2001 Audi TT 225 Coupe quattro, owned and driven hard by IEDEI since 2003.
The Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG is NOW. An AWD, 4-cylinder, turbocharged, 360hp, dual-clutch gearbox, in a beautiful slope-y sedan outline ready to launch this week at the NY Auto Show.
In the past, i’ve been very excited about this entire generation of upcoming MB ‘smaller’ cars…..even though i had spewed some critique about the original A-class concept back in the day.
I’ve been listening to this quite a bit while I get my work done. Really fantastic stuff. Made even better by the fact that you can download much of their stuff quite easily (and freely most of the time at the link below). Really love their artwork as well; entirely adds to the listening experience. They are from Germany.
How this lovely Amulet Red MK1 Audi TT flew into a house is beyond me….possibly launching off the side of one of the parked cars? Definitely bizarre. Hope all are OK.
What a boss tune. Listened to it about 20 times on Friday. Last year, i remember bickering with my wife (who has loved this band for a couple of years) about how they weren’t any good….but my mind has changed.
