Audi racing veteran.
Quattroworld has a great feature about Don Istook and his long-time Audi racing history–including Ur quattros, S4s, and TTs–culminating recently in his delivery of the 1st North American TT-RS. Fellow Audiphiles will surely appreciate the stories about his previous race cars that he built from the ground up, as well as some of his perspectives about these cars and experiences.
“Now, what I didn’t mention was that we got the truckload of parts on Friday…and we had to race Saturday morning! Well, Rome wasn’t built in a day…but I WAS racing at Road Atlanta in the early 80’s when Jo helped out Tom Brennan, after Tom had written off one of the Porsche factory D Production 924’s. Jo secured a brand new 924 D Production tub for Tom…had it shipped to the track…and that car WAS literally built in one day…made the DP race and finished 2nd!! So, with that in mind…we got all the “stuff” put on the car and just made the grid for the start of the race.”

Could F1 be coming to New Jersey?

Being a NYC resident, i’m hugely excited by this article. We have heard this all before, as a couple of years ago there was some buzz about F1 coming to Liberty State Park in New Jersey—-but this time, there seems to be some positivity regarding the possibilities.

Why AUDI doesn’t sell this in the USA, i have no idea. This Audi S5 Sportback is simply gorgeous in every way. In many ways, it’s even better looking than the S5 Coupe.

The original Lancia Delta Integrale was a beast of a car. Obviously we never recieved it imported to the USA, so it was added to the mental list of “yes i want but i cannot have” and put aside into the closet.
Lately there’s been some talk of Chryslers being sold here as rebadged Lancia Deltas (see article http://www.motorauthority.com/blog/1036481_chrysler-lancia-to-share-products-delta-could-come-to-u-s ).
Could this mean that if a Delta Integrale or Delta HF is produced, then we might see one? Maybe as an ‘SRT’ model? Dodge Delta HF? Sounds funny i know…but it would be fantastic!

a $60,000+ Hyundai coming to the US?
Firstly, whatever drugs and illusionary potions the Hyundai personnel are taking must be working tremendously. I think the press led you on to believe that your Genesis sedan and coupe were worthwhile options in the luxury sedan and coupe segments. Sure….be happy and think you made a solid product. The coupe is nothing more than a cut-rate Infiniti G37 (which isn’t a good thing!) and the sedan is a virtual rear end of a BMW E60 5-series and a Lexus LS (which is also not a good thing).
I thought (and still think) it’s pretty funny that Hyundai are selling a $40,000+ car in the Genesis sedan; i certainly wouldn’t buy one even if a kimchi covered gun was pointed to my head. But hilariously enough, they’ve decided to launch a $60,000 sedan known as the Equus. It will surely handle worse than 5-series, not have the majesty of an MB E-Class or S-Class, not be as modern of stylish as an Audi A6, and will be less reliable and more boring than an Lexus LS. So do we want one?
NO THANKS, Hyundai! Oh the horror….the horror.

This is a lifestyle blog, not simply about cars. But about all things for all men. This isn’t a crap site like Basenotes where boring one-dimensional donkeys cry and whine about their gutless opinions of rubbish fragrances. For those of you who haven’t tried KNIZE TEN, it is an extremely artistic, classic, controversial, and unique fragrance—equal parts leather, bitter tar, citrus, and hints of florals. But this is truly THE quintessential MAN SCENT. It is a must try, and a must own. I will fill you in on more details when they happen…..and a launch date is expected in the Summer of 09. Finally, the good petrolheads of this country will stop smelling like Armani, Creed, Gucci, and all that other trendy rubbish!
Watch F1 LIVE online!
Lots of people come up with lots of theories about how to watch F1 races LIVE online. SpeedTV generally has terrible commentating, requires cable tv, and is on the whole a terrible option for F1-deprived US viewers. This year, BBC has taken over the F1 broadcast in the UK and they will surely do an amazing job at broadcasting the races. Still, these broadcasts are NOT available in the USA…..til now….
So where can you watch the race? on BBC? I’ve got the answer.
