Earlier today, I picked up a copy of Gran Turismo for my little PSP.
The game does NOT have a Career Mode as Playstation versions of Gran Turismo have previously had. Â In those versions, you can collect cars, compete in multi-car races, and keep a garage with a collection. Â In this version, the gamemakers have NOT incorporated those features. Â Basically it is single player race mode, time trial mode, and then a series of driving challenges to win you money and open up new cars you can buy with that money.
I think the purpose of this game was to give people a copy of their favourite tracks in the world—-to keep in their pocket, and play whenever one wants. Â And for that purpose alone, GT for PSP is a superstar. Fantastic graphics and gameplay, and superb rendering of classic race tracks such as Suzuka, Nurburgring, Laguna Seca, etc. Â All in all, a very cool idea. Â I AM HOOKED ON the NURBURGRING, as always!
9/10.
Best Motoring has pitted the new, uglier, boring, and uninspiring BMW Z4 against some of the usual suspects……and what was the result? Â Click below to watch the 7+ minute race.
You gotta give props to Volvo for getting an 850 Wagon out on the BTCC racing circuits in the 90s….very cool.
My favourite watchmaker is definitely Tag Heuer. Â I love my Monza very much so. Â However i’ve been wearing my Monza every single day for the past 3 years, and today I decided to pick up a ‘cheap’ watch for under $100, that I can use sometimes to give the Heuer a break…..i’m really picky when it comes to watches—so finding a ‘back up’ ain’t so easy.
So for a mere $50, I picked up a carbon fiber tinged Carrera Athletic Three Hand.
I’m very impressed by the amount of quality they have packed into a lower priced watch. Â I think suggested retail for these watches is around $100….but if you have a look around the net, you can find em floating anywhere between $50 and $75. Â I haven’t seen alot of them in person, however I gotta say that on first impression, to an outsider, this definitely looks worth MUCH more than $50. Â Great stuff.
Here’s the watch I bought, followed by a link to the Carrera Time website, which has a full catalog online.
Looks like the Suzuka circuit in Japan…..GLORIOUS sounds coming out of that GTA.
What a sound……yep.
