I took this photo here in Brooklyn of a MKIV R32 parked on the street with a Quattro badge on the window, and Audi rings on the side. I’m not sure what to really think of it. The R32 DOES have a Quattro-like AWD system, and it also utilized the Audi-developed DSG gearbox (thanks for the correction, Bulgogibrothers!)—but it’s not an Audi!!! Debate…

BMW has decidedly become more tacky as the 90’s concluded and the 00’s began. The cars have declined, in my opinion, and their strategy, designs, and overall brand identity have undergone a process of failure. Currently their sales are dropping by the day; losing momentum to the imminent rise of Audi, Lexus, and a resurging popularity of Mercedes-Benz.
That being said, it is readily apparent these days that BMW is MOST worried about Audi and their slow and steady growth (even through the recession). So what are BMW gonna do about it?
They have released one of the cheesiest, nonsensical, and empty commercials i’ve seen in a long time. Nice one BMW. Even that previous generation Audi A4 you’ve put sort of makes the current 3-series look pale. If they had put the new B8 A4, it would have surely converted more buyers into Audi drivers than BMW ones. Ultimately, what this commercial does is make BMW drivers look worse than their current image already suggests…
And the slow decline of BMW continues…
Earlier today, I picked up a copy of Gran Turismo for my little PSP.
The game does NOT have a Career Mode as Playstation versions of Gran Turismo have previously had. In those versions, you can collect cars, compete in multi-car races, and keep a garage with a collection. In this version, the gamemakers have NOT incorporated those features. Basically it is single player race mode, time trial mode, and then a series of driving challenges to win you money and open up new cars you can buy with that money.
I think the purpose of this game was to give people a copy of their favourite tracks in the world—-to keep in their pocket, and play whenever one wants. And for that purpose alone, GT for PSP is a superstar. Fantastic graphics and gameplay, and superb rendering of classic race tracks such as Suzuka, Nurburgring, Laguna Seca, etc. All in all, a very cool idea. I AM HOOKED ON the NURBURGRING, as always!
9/10.
Continuing the trend of IEDEI attempting to destroy the virulent grip that the Toyota Prion….err..Prius has on our american society; this video blends perfectly to showcase the WORST car in the world——the Toyota Prius. Our good friend Jeremy Clarkson is gonna show you ’round…
Best Motoring has pitted the new, uglier, boring, and uninspiring BMW Z4 against some of the usual suspects……and what was the result? Click below to watch the 7+ minute race.
Singer Vehicle Design take older 911s from 1969 to 1989 and refresh them into something completely unique and amazing. This is a complete ‘refresh’ process which targets the appearance of those early 911 RSRs and Carrera RS from the late 60s/early 70s. In actuality, i gotta say that the Singer 911 almost looks better than those originals.
according to them:
“The Singer 911 is no mere imitation, clone or retro-hot rod, but a re-interpretation and rebirth of theearly performance-focused 911’s. The new vehicle is the result of a fusion between the purity of the original 911 and modern materials, design, and updated technologies, and aftermarket experience into a unique sports car that recaptures the essence of the early 911’s golden age. The Singer 911 capitalizes on the 40 years of solutions and enhancements that have resulted from the racing aftermarket’s embracing the original 911. Borrowing the best elements from the air/oil cooled 911’s long production span such as the “chic” of the long hood pre-’74 race specials, and the engineering durability of the later cars from the 80’s and 90’s, Singer Vehicle Design capitalizes on the vast know how and evolutionary advances the original 911 has enjoyed. The experience offered by the new Singer 911 is a passionate celebration of the history making, iconic 911, and creates an enhanced sportscar that honors the original 911’s soul.”

Well, it’s been years of keeping fingers crossed for Alfa Romeos and Fiats to start coming to the USA. Every few months, I see a ‘new’ article stating FIAT’s intent or specific predictions of import plans, or ‘new’ ideas of how FIAT will support bringing their italian-bred machinery back to the US market.
ALFA ROMEO 149 GTA (Milano)
So it’s too late to ask for a 147 GTA as it is being soon discontinued in favour of the new 149. Which is why we are gonna ask for that! A lower priced, italian hatchback with some guts and style is EXACTLY what Alfa Romeo should bring to the US market upon their return. I really hope they don’t blur clear thoughts and think that all they need to bring back are ‘luxury’ cars….Alfa needs to bring cars with SOUL. Small cars that feel more expensive, perform well, and are fun to own. I can’t think of anything better than a GTA hatchback for the resurrection of the Alfa Romeo brand in the USA.
You gotta give props to Volvo for getting an 850 Wagon out on the BTCC racing circuits in the 90s….very cool.
Rusty Zipper has a wide selection of authentic vintage racing jackets, y’know—-the polyester/nylon type in solid colours with those particular racing stripes. So go over there, find your perfect colour combination and get one for a very reasonable price (most of them are between $20 and $35!).
So if you look at the pictures of the new Audi E-Tron concept, the car looks MUCH smaller than an R8. It’s been described by some media as ‘wider and shorter than a Boxster”. So is this the much rumoured debut of the Audi R4?
IT SEEMS LIKE IT IS!

Finally, we have a glimpse of the newest, over-the-top amazing Bugatti.
8 tail pipes, a split-opening hood, insane chrome bodywork, a split line in the front windshield, a swooping rear end reminiscent of an old Bugatti Atlantic, Veyron-esque styling cues, Bentley-like size, and an insanely evil front headlight which reminds me of that weird old horror film The Car.
As usual with Bugatti—-it is completely insane. 800hp insane. It’s got a W16 (similar to the one in the Veyron, but detuned) under the hood. I’m assuming it is AWD. Just take a bloody look at it will yer!! And watch the VIDEO at the end.
Here are the special ‘refinished” IEDEI photos of the new Bugatti 16c Galibier:
