Jaguar has been a pretty boring company for several years now, although lately it’s all been improving dramatically. One of the significant problems is the current lack of identity, however. Everytime i see a ‘new’ Jaguar sedan, it looks like a cross between an Audi A6 wannabe and a Jaguar. What happened to the identity, lads!?
Anyways, the new XK-R 75 looks pretty damn slick. 530hp, 0-60 in 4.4 seconds, limited edition to celebrate 75 years of Jaguar. Pretty interesting paint job going on as well…
listen to that V4! easily one of IEDEI’s top 5 dream cars……do want.
look at that road! it’s full of angry cliffs to fly off of…..those crazy italians…
The Audi A5 is already one of the best looking cars on sale today…….gorgeous lines, low, wide, and with tons of presence. Paint the thing matte black & lower it…. and it starts too look like a stealth fighter…..fantastic.

The last TRULY interesting design that Cadillac made was in the shape of those bizarre and strange early 1980s Sevilles. I know, because my father had one back in the day. PINK with dark red velvet. Oh the horrors of pure luxury….but i loved that car when i was a kid. Mainly because it had so many cool digital things on the inside.
The CTS-V is fast…blah blah blah blah…but super boring. I guess that was the point. but THIS! it actually looks interesting, and they’re calling it the CTS Coupe.
from Motor Authority:
At launch, the CTS Coupe will only be available with GM’s 3.6-liter direct injected V-6, which is good for 304 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque and an EPA-estimated fuel economy of up to 27 mpg on the highway and 25 mpg in the city. A 6-speed manual transmission comes fitted as standard, while a 6-speed automatic with paddle shifters for pseudo manual control is offered as an option.

The Honda S2000 is dead. I’ve got a sneaking feeling that it WILL be back quite shortly, in altered and new form of course. These are some interesting renderings from Grid/3dLuvr about a possible idea. Note that they have a striking similarity to the outgoing model, however it’s all tweaked up with added styling cues. Reminds me alog of the MB Gullwing that was debut’d recently…

Autoweek is reporting that a 79 year-old former FIAT executive named Gian Mario Rossignolo is plotting to bring back the legendary De Tomaso name. Apparently he purchased the rights to the name from a bankruptcy court in Italy recently.
The launch lineup will consist of a crossover (????), a luxury sedan, and a coupe starting in 2011. Yeah, it doesn’t sound all that promising by words, but here’s hoping they ditch the sedan and crossover idea and concentrate on coming up with a cool sports car for consumption.

One of my favourite designs of the last 10 years…the Wiesmann GT. I wish they’d bring this beauty over to the US.

I’m hearing $225,000+ and mid 3s for 0-60 for the 2011 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Gullwing. It’s been tested extensively on the Nurburgring, so i’m guessing it’ll have some handling behind it. I think the styling is a bit BLAH, considering the glorious original Gullwing it is attempting to replicate the feeling of. Obviously, this is one of those ‘modern retro’ type projects (e.g. Camaro, BMW Z8, etc…), and although it may look several times more striking in real life; the photos don’t seem to really give out the feeling of ‘classic’ just yet. I do love the interior though…..very sharp—-even though the automatic transmission looks like crap sitting in an interior as nice as that one.
IEDEI has turned the ‘official’ SLS photos into B&W, to see if it fits the bill of ‘classic’…..download the photos in hi-res after clicking each one twice…..and then YOU decide whether it’s a classic or not!
Rumour, according to Jalopnik this morning was that there was some sort of ‘secret’ Bugatti 100 year anniversary event, by invitation only—where photos of a special car which is gonna be released to coincide with the 100 year anniversary, were leaked (see above photo!). Supposedly, this car is going to be debut’d at the Frankfurt Auto Show in the autumn.
Rumours are saying it’s a sedan—they’re probably right, but here’s hoping that it is a grand touring coupe. That would be FLY.
something like this, maybe?
Firstly, whatever drugs and illusionary potions the Hyundai personnel are taking must be working tremendously. I think the press led you on to believe that your Genesis sedan and coupe were worthwhile options in the luxury sedan and coupe segments. Sure….be happy and think you made a solid product. The coupe is nothing more than a cut-rate Infiniti G37 (which isn’t a good thing!) and the sedan is a virtual rear end of a BMW E60 5-series and a Lexus LS (which is also not a good thing).
I thought (and still think) it’s pretty funny that Hyundai are selling a $40,000+ car in the Genesis sedan; i certainly wouldn’t buy one even if a kimchi covered gun was pointed to my head. But hilariously enough, they’ve decided to launch a $60,000 sedan known as the Equus. It will surely handle worse than 5-series, not have the majesty of an MB E-Class or S-Class, not be as modern of stylish as an Audi A6, and will be less reliable and more boring than an Lexus LS. So do we want one?
NO THANKS, Hyundai! Oh the horror….the horror.
Well, it’s undoubtedly one of the great icons in automotive history, the famous Gullwing Mercedes coupes of the 50s. We all know that Mercedes has been testing prototypes of the car very openly…and although very concealed, have provided insight into the direction MB are headed in…
Below are some ‘new’ sketches found on the Top Gear site, along with a couple original spy photos and what Top Gear claim, are the ‘actual’ interior shots of the production car. Either way, the car looks fantastic. Can’t wait to see the final product.

Readied for the FIA GT4 Cup, in which participants are generally privately held and run teams using lightly modified/tweaked street cars on the track, Maserati has introduced that GT MC ‘race’ version of the Granturismo S road car.
I wasn’t font of the Granturismo when it was first launched, but it’s really grown on me these days!
